Dr. James Anthony Jackson
Dr. James Anthony Jackson, Sr. is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He is the second of four children born to Dr. Michael and First Lady Barbara Jackson. He accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of seven at Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church where his father Dr. Michael Jackson is the Senior Pastor.
He attended Bishop State Junior College for two years prior to transferring to the historic Tuskegee University. He received his calling to the ministry at age 20 while at Tuskegee. In 1997 he graduated from the institution, acquiring his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Dr. Jackson went on to enroll in Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA., where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 2000. In December 2007 he received his Doctoral Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.
Dr. Jackson is the founder and Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Indianapolis, IN. They opened their doors to the Indianapolis community on March 7, 2004. Since conception, the Lord has allowed the church to experience phenomenal growth. The membership has grown from 300 to over 4000. To accommodate the tremendous membership growth, New Beginnings Fellowship Church paid cash on 10 acres of land and erected a $5.6 million dollar worship facility in 2007. They are looking forward to expanding their current worship facility to include the Kingdom Center, which will be a facility designed to minister to the needs of the growing congregation, as well as those within the surrounding community. The church currently has three worship services on Sunday and Dr. Jackson’s radio broadcast can be heard weekly in Indianapolis, IN.
Dr. Jackson is uniquely gifted and an anointed vessel of God. He is a sought after preacher and teacher where he has been privileged to preach in the United States and abroad. He is the chaplain for the Indiana Pacers and has conducted chaplain services for the Indianapolis Colts and other NFL teams.
Out of all the accomplishments, Dr. Jackson remains humble to the fact that God graciously decided to use him as a humble servant. He is a devoted husband to First Lady Tara Jackson of Chesapeake, VA, whom is an educator in the Lawrence Township area of Indianapolis. They have one son, James Anthony Jackson, II. Dr. Jackson enjoys reading, singing, watching sports and working out.
